Stony Plain and the 2019 hail
Stony Plain was one of the places where large hail damaged siding and vehicles on August 2, 2019. Interlock's Slate, Shake, Cedar Shingle and Mediterranean Tile aluminum panels carry a UL 2218 Class 4 impact rating, listed by Intertek under Delta Building Products. No roof is immune: the material warranty excludes hail larger than 38 mm (1.5 in).
What Stony Plain homeowners pick
Slate is the clear favourite in our Stony Plain job book, with a few Cedar Shingle roofs and the older Interlock Shingle profile on earlier jobs. On an older house, any cedar has to come off first, and we check the decking before quoting.

Reviews from Stony Plain
“Usually, they have 5 guys working on the roof, but because of Covid-19, part of the crew was somewhere else so they did the job with only 2 men. The crew of 2 Columbian men worked in negative 10-degree weather with snow on the roof to get the job done. They came a day early and got rid of the snow and prepared for the job. They were amazing.”
“My only other comment is that the product has a lifetime warranty but the work has only a 10-year warranty. So to me, I really only have a 10-year warranty.”
“They were all pretty good. It is a good product and I hope it stands up like they said it would.”
“None. All is good I do have a concern, if someone could call me and answer a couple of questions that would be great. Thanks 780-920-0096”
“Interlock Roofing could have improved on the writing of the contract.”
“I would like to see more respect to nature. A robin's nest was just thrown on the ground with baby birds. This robin has had her nest on the eave of our house for 6 years. We forgot about it but if they would have just asked we would have taken care of it safely.”
